29 – What is the difference between the captain and the first officer during a flight?

 

In my opinion there are no major differences between the captain and the first officer as we must both be prepared to deal with any kind of situation that may occur during a flight. Of course the captain is the person who is responsible for the flight but nowadays with CRM we must both communicate and make decisions together.

So I would say that the first officer is a captain in training.
