In this picture I can see an aircraft mock up.

This mock up is used to train and prepare firefighters to combat fires. The mock up is engulfed in flames. I can see that the main framework is meant to be the airplane fuselage and on the left I can see a mock engine.

There are eight firefighters trying to extinguish the fire with a hose. They are using fluorescent protective clothing.

In the background I can see that the sky that is dark as the photo was taken during the night I can also see what appears to be a building and some trees.

In the foreground I can see the hose.

The causes of this mock up is to train firefighters to extinguish aircraft fire efficiently and rapidly.

The consequences of a fire onboard during a flight can be critical as fire can spread quickly, smoke and fumes may cause intoxication and a crash.

If pilots expereince a fire on board during a flight first they must try to extinguish the fire, inform the controller, follow the necessary check list and land as soon as possible in the nearest airport.

In my opinion, a fire on board can be caused by a fuel leak, a passenger smoking or possibly an electrical malfunction
