In this picture I can see a photo that was taken from inside an aircraft.
The aircraft windshield is severely cracked.
This photo was probably taken upon landing as I see a blurry image of the runway and runway lights.
The photo was taken during the day the weather appears to be dull possibly it was raining.
This can be caused by:
- A birdstrike
- Hail
- Finally, a window heat system failure.
The consequences might be:
- Poor visibility as we can see here.
- Maybe a decompression depending on the altitude of the plane.
- And finally, the aircraft will be grounded to undergo maintenance.
The procedures for this depend on which phase of flight this happens.
If it happens at a high altitude I must inform the control, descend to ten thousand feet, divert to the nearest airport and request assistance upon landing.
If this happens on final approach the pilot must continue the landing and request assistance after landing.
I have never had this situation.
