Picture 47

This picture shows me a Sikorsky S-76 helicopter, which is a twin-engine chopper and equipped
with retractable landing gear.

The fuselage is white and I can see N154US printed on one of the engines.

This helicopter is uses for civil and military operations worldwide.

Behind the main focus, I can see that the weather is good and a few clouds in the sky.

It is possible to see some trees and water.

In the foreground, I can see the helipad surface with yellow markings and some passengers.

From my standpoint, these passengers are walking towards the helicopter to board the aircraft and perform a normal flight.

In your opinion, what was happening before this picture was taken?

Talking about what happened before this picture was taken, I think the aircraft has landed from a normal flight.

Then, the ground staff and maintenance personnel performed all necessary checks to prepare the helicopter for this flight.

Finally, the boarding procedure was
started.

What do you think will happen next?

In my opinion, all passengers will board the aircraft and at the same time the pilots will prepare this chopper for the flight.

Finally, the aircraft will take off to a normal flight.

How can charter companies reduce risks to passengers and staff involved in heliport operations?

There are many practices that charter companies can adopt to minimize risks to passengers and staff during heliport operations, such as: keep a designated passenger waiting area that is far from the heliport, efficient training to all company staff and clear signs and markings to warn all people involved in the operation.

Now, I am going to read a statement to you and then you will have to tell me to what extent you agree or disagree with it. “The particular advantage of the operation of helicopters is that air services can be provided in very close proximity to the centers where traffic is generated”

I totally agree with this statement because helicopter is an excellent way of transportation that can access confined spaces depending on the necessity, such as helipads over buildings, hospitals and ships.

A helicopter can even access remote areas, mountainous areas and even giant water expanses.
