In this picture I can see a British Airways aircraft that is being de-iced. The aircraft is white the belly is blue and the British Airways livery is on the fuselage.
The aircraft is at a gate, next to the plane I can see a de-icing truck numbered 15 that is spraying anti-ice fluid on the aircraft the truck also belongs to British Airways.
In the background I can see the airport terminal building I believe its London Heathrow. I can also see another truck and a lot of snow on the ground.
The causes of this procedure are to remove and prevent build-up of snow and ice on the plane.
The consequences can be if this procedure isn’t done correctly or maybe not done at all the pilots can face control problems.
The procedures are to do the procedure in a specific amount of time before take-off considering the holdover period.

How can the de-icing procedure affect the environment?
To de-ice the aircraft a chemical product is used, this product can contaminate land and waterways.
