In this picture I can see an Airbus 330 that belongs to Tam Airlines.

The aircraft fuselage is white, the company name Tam is printed on the fuselage in red and blue. Below the cockpit window I can see the phrase “The magic red carpet.”

This is a twin engine wide body airplane.

This plane appears to be performing a go-around most likely because the nose landing gear was rotated ninety degrees to the left.

I remember this situation happened in New York.

The weather was ok the sky seems to be clear.

This was probably caused by hydraulic malfunction, poor maintenance and finally a sensor malfunction.

The consequences can be: 1 – The aircraft can overrun the runway or veer off the runway during landing; 2 – a very uncomfortable situation for passengers and crew. 3 – Finally passengers and crew may be injured or killed.

In this actual situation they were very fortunate as just before touch down the landing gear aligned and they landed normally.

The passengers and crew were all prepared for an emergency landing.

I think this is a dangerous situation as the pilots don’t know exactly what will happen after touch down so they must be prepared to have a tire blowout, fire in the nose landing gear and a runway excursion not to mention panic on-board.
