In this picture I can see an Airbus A320 that ditched in the Hudson River.

The airplane belongs to US Airways, the fuselage is white and the tail is blue and red there is also a flag printed on the tail.

I can see many passengers on the wing of the aircraft as they were evacuated via the over wing emergency exit, I can also see the front escape slides are inflated there are a few passengers on the escape slides.

In the foreground I can also see the river.

This was caused by a dual bird ingestion after take off in New York they ingested a flock of geese and lost thrust in both engines. The captain decided the best option was to ditch in the river as they didn’t have time to return to any airport.

The consequences were a very stressful situation for passengers and crew and total loss of the aircraft.

Nobody was killed or even injured in this situation.

I would consider all of the decisions the pilots made were the right ones. The captain was considered a hero for his actions.

I think that Galeão International airport in Rio de Janeiro is the worst airport to encounter flocks of birds as there is a dumping ground near the airport and it’s surrounded by the sea.
