This picture shows a CRJ-700 regional jet. It is a narrow-body twin jet engine aircraft.
This plane is experiencing an engine fire on the left-hand engine.
The aircraft is white, and the tail is blue. I believe the firefighters are on the scene, and it is possible to see water being sprayed into the engine to douse the flames. The weather seems to be overcast, in the foreground, I can see two passengers taking pictures of this incident.
In your opinion, what was happening before this picture was taken?
Before the picture was taken, I believe the pilot landed the plane normally, then the controller informed him that the engine was on fire. Thew pilot commanded the emergency evacuation procedures and asked the controller to send emergency assistance.
What do you think will happen next?
I presume the passengers will be relocated to another flight and the aircraft will be removed from the runway and it will be out of service for some time.
What is your opinion about airport infrastructure in Brazil? Do you think that small airports are sufficiently prepared for emergencies?
Yes! Of course, the rules and regulations regarding airport safety in Brazil are very restricted. All airdromes must be prepared to face an abnormal situation whenever it happens.
